Oh yes, I definitely have heard of that phrase. Sometimes I am at work and will be doing some clock watching. When we are having fun we do not pay attention to time as much. I went out of the country for a week..
I made sure i had a full 7 days there and gave and extra day to travel there and an extra day to travel back.. I had so much fun there, it was like it went by in a flash So i know how you feel. My parents went away on vacation for two weeks and they came back and said it sure went by quickly.
They were not ready to come back. The old saying of time always flies when you are having fun is a definite reason for this LOL When we are doing something that we WANT to do and are having fun doing, then time just flies by.
Since we usually have fun on the weekends and vacations, it would be very understandable that this would apply. I agree with you there and we don't pay attention to our watches or clocks when we are having fun.
I enjoy my job a lot but the days seem to drag anyways. I wish that weekends and vacations would slow down. Parents of younger students, in particular, may be forced to pay for costly daycare services. Students who are special needs or behind academically had a harder transition to the shorter week. Juvenile crime rates went up significantly. Longer days of school can be harder on the students, especially the younger grades.
Fewer school hours per day would permit students to have enough time to study, complete school assignments, participate in after-school activities and be able to get to bed by a decent hour.
The students will most likely go to their class on time, because the school day will be shorter and easier to handle. Our results generally indicate a positive relationship between the four-day school week and academic achievement. These positive effects, combined with robustness checks designed to address selection bias, suggest there is little evidence that switching to a four-day week harms student performance.
Everyone should aim to make relaxation a regular habit. Days when you have a packed schedule often seem to rush by, right? Well, you can apply this principle when you want time to speed up. Turning your attention to meaningful activities fun, work, or anything in between can engage your brain and help you avoid lengthy reflection on how slowly the days seem to pass.
Just take care to maintain some balance. It can help to fill empty days with productive tasks. Following a regular routine can help fill your time and give your days more structure. Start by outlining a personalized schedule. Regularly changing your environment as part of your routine can also help refresh your mindset and increase your engagement. Consider going to a park, hiking a nature trail, wandering through the city center, or taking a walk around the block.
Consider making that elusive future date today. After nearly a year of social distancing , quarantines, and pandemic restrictions, most people feel pretty drained. Still, you can recapture some of that energy by giving yourself a new focus. Taking care of odd jobs around the house can feel pretty satisfying once you get started, and time will start slipping away before you know it. Put on some energizing music and get to scrubbing the baseboards, organizing the linen closet, sorting through those dusty boxes of photographs in the garage, or catching up on low-priority emails.
Crossing off each item can motivate you to keep working your way down the list. Reading can benefit your mind and body in several ways. If you have to set it aside, the story might continue occupying your thoughts, helping the time you spend on more mundane tasks pass quicker.
Books set in alternate worlds, historical periods, or the distant future also offer a temporary escape from everyday life. Try e-books, audiobooks, memoirs, or nonfiction on any topic. When you have things to do and friends to see, you might feel as if you never have enough time.
Not being able to spend time with loved ones or participate in your usual activities can turn this perception upside down.
